Diego Trujillo Pisanty, born in 1986 in Mexico City, is an artist who employs information both as a concept and as a material in his work. His artistic inquiries explore how information influences identity, politics, and our understanding of the world, while also highlighting its ambiguous nature as a noun. Trujillo Pisanty's practice typically involves creating electronic devices, writing code, and producing digital images that function as interfaces to help interpret the world. In recent years, his focus has shifted towards exploring the expressive potential of artificial intelligence.
His artwork has been displayed internationally, with exhibitions in cities like London, Paris, Mainz, Detroit, and Mexico City, and at venues such as the Science Gallery, the 404 Festival, and the Saint Etienne Design Biennale. Trujillo Pisanty has received an Honorable Mention from the Prix Ars Electronica and has been awarded the Young Creators fellowships from the Mexican Ministry of Culture three times.
